In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #1,303 - Whirlwind Day

Oma Karrin with Girlz

Tina with Boyz

At the Theatre

This morning the Girlz slept in quite late.  The Boyz arrived at 11 a.m. with Oma Karrin.  We had lunch here at the Penny Palace and then were off to a surprise show …  It was the Wizard of Oz at the Lewis Family Theatre.  Great Performance with dozens and dozens of local children playing the Munchkin roles.  The Kidz seemed to really enjoy it.  Since the two boys had recently performed in their school plays, they had more appreciation of the rehearsing and process which lead to the actual performance.

At intermission time when Jaime hopped out of her seat, I saw a teeny reflection of light under it.  I had to move her seat cushion back and forth a few times before I could get a better look under there.  Sure enough - a quarter!  The other people all wondered how the heck I could have possibly noticed that?  The coins ‘call’ to me.  (Coin #1)

Pigs at the Trough

For an after theatre ‘snack’ we went to Farrell’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor.  Very noisy, full of commotion and activity.  We devoured two pizzas and then ordered a Pig Trough for all of us to share.  We didn’t realize that since we were there to Celebrate their four birthdays, each of the four kids would also get their own individual ice cream sundae.

We came back to the Penny Palace to pack gear for the cabin.  Our neighbors wanted to say hello and then Oma Karrin lost her keys so we had considerable delays.  By 8:30 p.m. we were finally on the road.  One coin was not enough (and we did not have a penny), so we stopped at a 7-11 store to search for more.  Did a double-knee dive for a penny and a dime.  (Coins #2&3)

UNO at the Cabin

At the cabin (after numerous arguments about who was sleeping where)  we settled in for the evening.  Some board games, card games, and then bedtime stories from the bimonthly Angel Magazine.

Total:   3  Coins        P (1), N (0), D (1), Q (1) = $0.36
