In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #1,149 - Plans A, B, C

While I was preparing gear for the day, Doc went to McDonalds for a morning snack and a penny. He also found a dime on the floor of the van (which does not officially count).

Our plan for this morning (Plan A) was to work with Handyman George, obtain more wall caps out in Riverside, and meet with Countertop Francisco. None of those happened. George was delayed on another job, it took Francisco until late afternoon to deliver our countertops, and the additional wall caps need to be fabricated for us on Monday.

We created Plan B. I tried to paint a heavier coat of glow-in-the-dark paint on the Aussie ceiling stars. One small glitch - I can’t see the existing stars with sunlight coming into the room. I will need to do that job in the dark.

Plan C: We positioned the laminated US Map on the kitchen wall. Now we need to devise an attractive way to hang and label 52 mugs on the wall around the map. Need some creative ideas there.

This morning Doc was going through his backpack and found a photo from March 19 of last year. For fun we took a photo from the same location today. Yes, there has been a little progress.

After leaving the Penny Palace we stopped for petrol. Doc found one penny and I found two at that stop. (Coins #2-4). As we exited the freeway, Doc collected a Sit-N-Find penny. (Coin #5) At Lowe’s we shopped for decorative tile pieces and laminate countertops. We found one ready-made one which we might use in the hallway and my office. Next we stopped at the Fixture Shop to make some returns and exchanges.

This afternoon and evening we have been working on rental property issues and taxes along with numerous contacts for the Penny Palace: upstairs railing, plumbing, landscaping, finish carpentry, the printing shop, etc.

Total: 5 Pennies

Somebody stuck a house in the way of the view of that beautiful grove of trees.
