In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #918 - Penny Palace Picnic

Today we enjoyed our first meal at the Penny Palace. We had a picnic in the dining room. Menu: Penne Pasta followed by Angel Food Cake. After 30 years of dreaming about it, the house is really taking shape! That was a very special celebration.

I went out early to the jobsite to set up for the picnic. Doc took the two Aussie guests to Starbucks (one penny) and then to CVS to look for postcards (one penny). Coins #1&2

After the picnic we stopped by son Stephen’s new-house-to-be. We looked at all the improvements he has made in the past few months. Then we picked apricots and plums from his trees. I managed to find my penny for today in some construction debris. (Coin #3).

We were very hot and thirsty so we stopped at a Jack-in-the-Box for something cold. Shirlee and I walked next door to the car wash in hopes of finding postcards. We found a penny. (Coin #4).

Our next stop was at the home of one of our solar rayce car “kids” so Shirlee could personally deliver a baby gift. Two more of our favorite solar car “kids” showed up there unexpectedly, so I wisked them away to give them a brief tour of the Penny Palace. That was a delightful afternoon surprise.

Meanwhile, Doc and the ladies went searching for postcards. At Target Doc found 3 pennies, Merril found 1. Coins (#5-8). At the Mobil gas station 1 penny was found. (Coin #9). At the 99¢ store Merril found 2 pennies and one dime, Doc collected a penny. (Coins #10-13). No postcards anywhere.

Total: 13 Coins P (12), N (0), D (1), Q (0) = $0.22

Friend Mandy also found a penny en route to the Penny Palace Picnic.
