In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #268 - Plenty of Pennies

We spent the morning reviewing the Purchase / Escrow documents for the new lot, then headed out for breakfast. The store next to the restaurant was deserted and boarded up. I said, “Doubt we’ll find coins here”, but kept looking. Doc peeked over the wall and said, “There’s one.” (Penny #1). When entering the restaurant, Doc spotted a coin behind the register, but we were quickly escorted to a booth with no chance for retrieval. After placing our breakfast order, I just couldn’t resist. Went back and told the cashier about Penny Finders. Got Penny #2.

Doc was supposed to spend the rest of the day working on his class preps while I worked on my projects. He putzed for a while, then took the van for a car wash. The car wash had a TV screen to distract him with football. But he still managed to spot a coin approximately 1 ft. under the Super Toy machine. (Coin #3). He retrieved the penny and smiled saying, “Lucky Penny” to the kids and other people watching him. He sat back in the chair and noticed there was a penny in the middle of the room on the floor between him and the TV monitor! Mushroom coin! (Penny #4).

Doc and Sparky had a nice afternoon nap, then Doc went shopping. I forgot to tell him, “Enough Findings already today! Please no more”. He came home with a pocket full of change and several thousand more steps on his pedometer.

Doc put in 1200 steps at Trader Joe’s and found a penny at Check Out (Penny #5).

Next he walked Sprouts. There was a penny near the check out lines as he entered the store (Penny #6). After making his purchases (and spilling the free sample coffee everywhere), Doc headed for his van - traveling along an extended Penny Finding path. He found 5 pennies under a picnic table, then another penny near the van. (Penny #7-12).

At the grocery store Doc found a penny outside by the phones, then a penny upon entering the store. He questioned the Penny Angels about his lack of silver finds for the past few days. Within minutes he found a dime! Then one more shiny penny at check out. (Coins #13-16).

Today’s Total: 16 coins P (15), N (0), D (1), Q (0) = $0.25

Doc had plenty of Pennies to show for today, but ZERO class prep. He was ill with Penny Fever.
