The first appointment this morning was to turn in the rental car. I talked to a few people there about Penny Tales and passed out some business cards. Then I retrieved my pickup truck from the paint shop. There was a huge sign on the windshield saying “Just painted”. The store manager said he had several enquiries, Did I want to sell it?
I talked to the truck as we were driving away and discussed how those other men could just keep their hands off her! She agreed. J She has a significant role over the next year in helping us get the new house built.
She really should have a name. Any suggestions?
I stopped at Hubcap Annie’s and in 5-6 minutes we were driving away with a new look.
We just had to stop by and see Miss Mandy. After all, she is the one who jokingly said a few months ago: “Your truck could use a little ‘refreshing’. What about a paint job? What about a COPPER paint job?” We laughed at the time. How silly. Oh well. Why not?
I went home and did household chores until it got uncomfortably warm in the house. Then headed to Cal Poly Pomona to do a few things. It was 3 PM and I said, “Penny Angels, half the day is over and I don’t plan to go elsewhere. What d’you say?” There was a penny under the vending machine before I got to my office. I had to get quite close to verify that it was a penny. Embedded in enough gunk that even I didn’t want to get it. But that is not an option.
This evening Doc and I spent an hour entering data on the computer - the interior walls designs of the new house. Every day a little progress.
Lesson for today? Doc’s suggestion: You must get out of the home / office / comfort zone and venture forth if you want to find the rewards.
Today’s Total: 1 Penny
