Background

In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #904 - Trusses are Here

Production of the roof trusses was completed yesterday in Yuma, Arizona (254 miles from here). We were told to expect the load around 10:30 this morning. At 10:40 Driver Doug arrived. He said he would have been on time except that he had to go through 3 Weigh-in scales, 2 Immigration Checks and 1 Agricultural Inspection. (and a Partridge in a pear tree). He completed the trip in 5 hours.

Doc and I arrived at the jobsite a bit early. Doc graded his Final Exam papers in the tool shed. I set up a TV tray in my new office where my computer desk will be. It was fun to sit there assembling Penny Cards and envisioning how it will look next year …

Doc and I ‘worked’ for just a few minutes before we had visitors. Otto and Redonna (the neighbors who led the police to our tool recovery and parents of Goliath, Tyson, and Pistachio) dropped in to say hello. It was fun to welcome them and give them a tour.

We had to say good bye to our guests mid-way during our house tour because the trusses arrived. It was incredible to watch Framer Danny skillfully lift each bundle off the truck and then maneuver it between the trees and structures.

Penny Finding:

Doc obtained a dime when he went to McDonalds for breakfast.

I collected a penny when we stopped on the way home for lunch and a greeting card.

Total: 2 Coins P (1), N (0), D (1), Q (0) = $0.11
