Background

In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Default Mode

What is your Default Mode of Thinking? Mine was tested today.

JOY moments can be found in even the most mundane tasks.
They can instantly CHANGE our attitude and teach us valuable lessons in the process!

***********
This morning Doc asked me to wash some of his pants – and be sure to get out the stains.  Grrr…. My heart was less than JOYful about that request.

I CAREFULLY checked every pocket in each of the pants to ensure there was nothing in them.  The washing was completed and items were moved into the dryer.  After about fifteen minutes, the dryer began making loud noises. My first thought was, “Crap!  It sounds like a loose part in the dryer.  I sure hope the bearings haven’t gone bad or some other significant failure”.

Question Here:  WHY do we often DEFAULT to a Negative or Yucky Thought???
WHY didn’t I default to a positive “I wonder what good thing made that noise?”  Or at least a neutral, “Hmmmm… that is a strange new sound.”  WHY Default to the Negative?

So of course Liesel and I went to investigate.  Look what we found… TWO Super Shiny Pennies!  God’s Two Cents worth for today.

I can just imagine the Penny Angels saying, “We heard you tell Doc this morning that you didn’t need to leave the house today.  So we Delivered!”

Or perhaps Source was saying,
“Yes, YOU checked all the pockets, but do you really expect THAT to deter Me?”  “I am ALWAYS Present in EVERYTHING you do!

Oh man...if that were my dryer...I'd keep it on all the time to see if it can make quarters too.
