In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

CELEBRATE Day #1,000

Hi Penny Pals-

Grocery Shopping with
Mandatory Facemasks
Let’s Celebrate 1,000 Days of Penny Finding!  Hopefully a number of you will take on the 1,000 Penny Challenge which I posted yesterday.  Surely sometime in the next few days YOU could meet that challenge and Gift One Person (or organization) the equivalent 1,000 pennies ($10).  Doc and I plan to do Ten for $10.

For you International Penny Pals – do the math and figure out an equivalent in your local currency.   LOL

PLEASE SHARE your story in the comment section below so that other people will read it and the JOY ripples will spread like a virus!   LOL

SPREAD JOY not Germs!

So far today Doc and I have gifted the UPS Delivery guy, our Postal Carrier Sue, Rufino a cashier at the grocery store who has been so friendly to us over the years, and the owner Tom of the local postal station who is striving to keep his business open to help people during this crisis. Tomorrow a few more gifts are planned ...

Fil says he gifted $10 to Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center. He showed an email of his receipt.

You surely do practice what you preach! Congratulations on 1000 DAYS.

Do you realize how incredible the photo is? Starting with the flag so perfectly displayed, the red-white-and-blue theme is carried through Doc's blue gloves to the red shopping cart (where's the white mask - or toilet paper?)...and then into the background where nearly every item in the display case is red, white and blue.

I donated $50 twice to two students who at home are using their 3 D printers to make face masks for their local medical facilities who care for COVID patients.

I told the story of 1000 Penny's and gave an extra 10 dollars to the staff at our favorite taco place which just opened.  Hoping they can weather this.

I am laughing! To "pose" for this photo, Doc was grabbing some lunch meat and I told him to stand still for a moment. Handed my phone to the gal stocking some shelves and asked her to take a quick photo. We were surprised to see the flag in the photo. Our gingham masks also carry the red and white theme. COINcidence!

Donated $10 to Inland Valley Humane Society. They have a campaign to double donations received by April 13. Double of the blessing!

I paid the $10.00 forward. 2 of my employees went above and beyond yesterday with no direction from me. I just watched them and marveled at the way they just did what needed to be done. They both got $10.00 with the little penny card.
Be safe and God Bless

This month we gave all 12+ of our renters a month of free rent and told them to use any extra they might have and spread it to others less fortunate. We’ve heard from a couple of folks about what they did with the “ extra” cash..... lots of good folks out there."

Your suggestion is great, and I complied by leaving a $10 gratuity for housekeeping at the Rolla, MO motel I stayed at Friday. They're working with a skeleton crew at 10% of their normal capacity, and those folks are all treading water. Add them to the list of people working at risk to bring us services we've normally take for granted.

I gave an extra tip to our local restaurant take out! My heart is out to so many!
I made masks for the Cancer Treatment Center here.
There are many heros on the front lines of this war!

We took your Challenge and donated 1,000 pennies to our friends' mom who sewed over 1,000 masks for healthcare rehab workers and people such as us. The $10 was to help her purchase more materials. She was grateful & encouraged by this Celebration Challenge.
