I sure wish today’s
coin find could have been captured on camera.
It was hilarious!
I was going to share
the dog-chasing escapade with only my canine-loving friends, then realized it
was actually a Penny Tale as well!
***********
This afternoon Doc and I went
to the vet to pick up Dundee. He had a teeth cleaning today. That meant he was taken in at 7:30 a.m., put
under anesthesia, treated, then kept confined. When we arrived, Dundee was
soooooooo happy to see us and get released from that dog hospital.
Envision this… The Banfield
Vet Clinic is in the very back of the big PetSmart store. I was paying
for his visit, credit card in hand. The leash slipped and Dundee bolted
for the front door. He went full speed past all the displays, past the
cash registers at the front of the store, through the first set of open glass
doors… Can you hear me SCREAMING "Dundee STOP!!!!" while running full
speed after him? The cashier tried to intercept him when he reached the
first set of glass doors, but she was not fast enough. The second set of
doors began to open and I cringed at the thought of him bolting across the busy
lanes of traffic...
Thankfully Dundee stopped in
the doorway and I stomped on his leash. We took him out to the planter
where he urinated for what seemed like an eternity!!! The poor guy HAD TO
GO!

Dundee then needed to poop in
a second planter – right next to a penny!
As Doc was watching and laughing at all this, I pointed out that he
was standing over a penny! And then there
was a quarter and another penny under the bench next to us. We were having such a silly moment.
This evening Dundee is doing
just fine and staying very close to me.
Lesson: Positive Outcomes can be found in even the
Poopiest situations.
