In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #988 - Laboring

No early meetings were scheduled for this morning, so we didn’t arrive at the jobsite until 10 a.m. We expected only the stucco crew to be there.

When we arrived at the jobsite the stucco crew already had most of the house covered with wire. Their scaffolding has blocked almost all the doorways making it more challenging for the other trades (and me) to work.

The framing crew had added the metal brackets to the front trellis, framed out the trapezoid window jambs, added some knee braces and said today they were taking their gear and moving on to another job beginning on Monday.

As Doc and I were leaving, we were surprised by the approach of the Michaels family. Jeff was a team leader and one of our favorite students on the solar race car project. His father is the one who is installing the roofing on the Penny Palace. What a delight it was to have them visit today.

Penny Finding:

On the way to the jobsite Doc offered to stop at a different Starbucks. Wow! So if anyone asks where we went for the Holiday Weekend, we can say “A different Starbucks”. While he got his coffee (it was within a Target Store). I hunted for coins. I collected 3 pennies, gave out one Penny Card, and shared the story with four cashiers. (Coins #1-3).

This evening Doc went out for dinner while I continued working on the Penny Palace August finances. He returned with dinner and no coins! End of today’s story.

Total: 3 Pennies
