Last night our guests wanted to watch the DVD ‘The King’s Speech’. So we rented the movie and that kept them occupied for a few hours while I unpacked from the Palace Picnic and wrote Penny Tale.
This morning we set forth to take our guests for a Mountain Escape. A journey which usually takes an hour, took three. We stopped at a 7-11 store to return the rented DVD. Collected one nickel and two pennies there. (Coins #1-3).
Next we stopped to get ‘one for the road’ at Bad Ass Coffee. I chided Doc, Shirlee and Merril about the penny which they had each just walked over. Shirlee quipped back, “You mean like the one you are standing on?” (Coins #4&5)
A quick dash into the CVS Pharmacy for eye drops and two pennies there. (Coins #6&7)
Just before reaching the cabin, we stopped at Goodwin’s grocery store for sandwiches, salads and souvenirs. Shirlee found a penny in the produce sections (see video). (Coin #8)
Our guests enjoyed the tall pines and feeding the blue jays.
We opened a new jigsaw puzzle with the anticipation of a relaxing evening around the table, casually assembling the beautiful picture. After a few hours, we all concurred that this was a ‘puzzle from hell’.
Total: 8 Coins P (7), N (1), D (0), Q (0) = $0.12
