In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #1,143 - Sundays

Is this what Sundays are for? Family, fun, food, football! It has been a long time since we had one this relaxing.

This was the first hotel stay (in the U.S.) for the Twins and they seemed to have enjoyed it. We had a great complimentary breakfast, then checked out.

Since we did not get to go to the Chuck E. Cheese's in Bakersfield last night, we headed an hour south to Lancaster. The kids spent almost two hours in a nearly deserted Chuck E. Cheese's! They were thrilled. They earned nearly 800 coupons which they redeemed for a Lego-type car.

I tried to do a little bit of design work for the PP while ‘hanging’ around.

We traveled North to Mojave for lunch. There was a boarded-up fast food place and Doc just could not resist stopping there to look around for coins. None found at that place, but I collected one from the next door burger drive thru. (Coin #1)

We had lunch at Denny’s. Found 3 dirt-pennies in a planter and one additional one. (Coins #2-5).

We took the boys home around 2:30 p.m. Brother, Greg and his wife, Val returned from their trip. Kids and Grandma played table tennis in one room while Doc watched the Super Bowl. Then we all had a delicious Birthday Sunday dinner. The sun was setting over the mountains, the view across the valley was inspiring, and family was gathered at the table. Nice moment.

After dinner we were on the road again - this time with my Mom. We logged nearly 700 miles in those few days. Of course Doc had to stop at Starbucks before getting on the freeway. He got caffeine, I got a dime and two quarters. (Coins #6-8)

Total: 8 Coins P (5), N (0), D (1), Q (2) = $0.65
