In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #1,163 - Rock Raising

The area where we are building is known for having a few rocks - also called Cucamonga potatoes. I think after the recent rains, our ‘potatoes’ have been propagating.

Over recent weeks we have been setting the boulders in the front yard. Doc and I both felt the ones along the pathway were set too deeply. I mentioned it to the Landscape Architect a few times. Today when he saw the string line for the finish grade of the walkway, he said all the boulders needed raising! So now we are paying to have them set a second time. We were scrambling up and down those rocks today. The equivalent of a few miles of mountain hiking.

This afternoon Solar Guy Jeff appeared unexpectedly. He activated half our solar panels. Within one hour the panels had generated enough power to keep all our exterior lights burning throughout the night. That was exciting.

Penny Finding:

On the way to the Penny Palace Doc stopped at Subway for coffee and breakfast. I walked around. One penny under a small table on the sidewalk. Another penny in a planter. Doc found one penny at the threshold of the store. (Coins #1-3)

After work we stopped at a 7-11 store for coffee. Doc found a penny at the coffee area. (Coin #4). Stopped at the grocery store for a chicken, two pennies and a dime. (Coins #5-7). At the pet store we got dog food plus a nickel as Doc stepped out of the van. (Coin #8). As we drove home, Doc just could not resist cruising through the high school parking lot. In a few minutes we had collected four pennies. (Coins #9-12).

Total: 12 Coins P (10), N (1), D (1), Q (0) = $0.25 (25 is my special number for Penny Finding)
