Groom on 'White Horse' |
Wedding festivities began at 9 a.m.
this morning with a special ceremony for the Bride and her family. The outdoor wedding (over 100 degrees
today) began (theoretically) at 10 a.m.
There were nibbles for people in the audience and waiters with constant
cups of water to keep people hydrated.
The ceremony, decorations, and rituals were beautiful and
elaborate. The ceremony ended slightly
after noon.
Doc and I did not realize there
would be a lunch and planned to run a few errands. We found a penny as we stopped for lunch (Coin #1), then
shopped for folding chairs., flash drives, more baggies to catalog the daily
penny finds, and other things for the upcoming Penny Palace Open House.
We changed attire for the evening reception. The invitations indicated 5:30 social
hour and 6:30 dinner.

Caterers and Event Planners must go
nuts with Indian events. The
cocktail hour was outdoors and finally at 7:30 the doors were open for the
guests to go inside. There were
presentations, speeches, dances and toasts. By 9 p.m. we were getting a little hungry. Dinner began at 9:30 for 300+ persons.
The food was scrumptious. It was
quite a long day for us. Imagine
what it was like for the wedding party after a whole week of festivities!
Total: 1 Penny
