In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #573 - Cookin' in CA

Temperatures were in the triple digits and things were cookin’ around here today.

This morning Doc and I made a few calls, then agreed to “do an hour in the garage”. Neither one of us enjoyed that task. By noon we were ready to head to school for “a break”. We stopped at Starbucks for Doc’s coffee and a nickel. (Coin #1).

The Primary reason for going in to work was because there is air conditioning there! The secondary reason was to get some work done.

This evening we had registered for a Knife Skills class as Doc’s birthday present. Before class we stopped for dinner in Old Town Orange by the traffic circle. Reminded us of Australia.

Tonight’s dinner was another “Anniversary celebration”. (I think we have celebrated every day now for the past two weeks!)

Doc said, “Our nickel is lonely, it needs another coin.” Within minutes we found a bright shiny penny on the sidewalk. (Coin #2) Happy couple. (Both us and the coins).

The Knife Skills class was lots of fun. Seven students and so much delicious food! We were cookin’ tonight!

Driving home around 10:30 PM this evening, Doc and I were laughing. When we were dating and newly married, we very much enjoyed watching the TV Show Hart to Hart. Today was similar to a “Hart Day”. We did a few things around the house, popped into the office for a few hours, had a lovely dinner, enjoyed a nice evening with pleasant people in a learning session, and then found no calls or surprises to deal with when arriving home. A very nice day.

Total: 2 Coins P (1), N (1), D (0), Q (0) = $0.06
