In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #810 - Extracted

While Doc got his coffee at Starbucks, I walked next door to collect a penny at the fast food window. (Coin #1).

***************

We had a 9:30 appointment at City Hall to cast our vote. A special election was held (with us as the only voters) to allow our lot to be annexed into the special fire district so that they may now tax us legally. You can’t even imagine the paperwork for that process.

We then went out to the site. We asked if grader Craig could kindly remove the pampas grass clump. That job would have taken Doc and I an entire weekend and significant marital discord to conquer that monster. Craig had it extracted within 10 minutes! (See video). Thank you. He also dug down to find the gas, electrical, and phone lines for us. Nice to have confirmation of their locations before we proceed further with utility design work.

***************

Before getting on the freeway, Doc needed a snack. A McDonald’s burger for him, and a dirt penny in the planter for me. I saw a penny in a crack, but even with the pliers I could not extract it. Doc also got two dimes at the pay window and four pennies at the pick up window. He also had to use the pliers to extract the coins from a tar-filled crack. Wonder what the window cashier was thinking as she witnessed our antics. (Coins #2-8).

At dinner when Doc went to Carl’s Jr. he collected another penny. (Coin #9)

***************

Almost the entire focus today was trying to get payments made from the funding company to our subs. We are trying to be “patient guinea pigs” as we work with “improving” their software (so that it works like it is supposed to …).

Thought: Penny JOY is spreading as more and more people are catching the Penny Fever.

Total: 9 Coins P (7), N (0), D (2), Q (0) = $0.27
