In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #653 - Target Rich Environment

Today Doc and I worked in the yard, graded student papers, worked on some designs for the new house, did laundry, and completed numerous other house chores. Finally at 6 PM, Doc announced that it was time to get out of the house to do some Penny Finding before it got dark.

Doc felt “nudged” to search the high school parking lot for coins. I told him the chances of finding coins there were not as high as the grocery store - couldn’t we just save time and skip the walk through the lot? He drove to the lot.

Doc spotted one penny before he got out of the van. I told him the South half of the lot was mine, he could go “take a hike” on the North side. He began to drive away but spotted 5 pennies in one spot - on MY side! I found an embedded at the same time and told him he could claim that one IF he could free it. He did. Then as he drove away again, another Sit-N-Find -- a dime.

We then each went our separate ways. We collected a total of 16 coins in that “Target Rich Environment”.

Then we did go to the grocery store -- in order for Doc to use the bathroom there. He also collected three pennies and a dime while cruising through the store.

The final stop was der Wienerschnitzel for Doc’s 3 hot dogs; no dogs or coins for me.

Total: 20 Coins P (17), N (0), D (3), Q (0) = $0.47

Had to go to the grocery store today and halfway there I decided I needed a soda so I stopped at a 7-11. As I pulled into the parking lot I thought I'd ask the Penny Angels for a coin. There were only two open spots in the parking lot and I pulled into the one on the right, opened my door and looked right at a penny in the empty slot. Had I pulled into that one I would have missed the penny. The Angels must have guided me into that spot to make sure I found that coin. Amazing.

Matt and I went to Spa Ritz to treat ourselves to some massages. I commented as we drove up at how nice the brochures were that Miss Tina created for Spa Ritz (the owner has them up on the door). They look so professional. As I stepped out of the truck, I turned to look, and right there in our parking space was 2 dimes, one for Matt and one for me. Happy Pennyfinding (or I mean dimefinding)...
Weird, that we found them when getting our parking space, like above fellow pennyfinder!
