In March 2008 I began Finding Pennies. In December 2008 I began sharing these "Penny Tales" with a few close friends. They encouraged me to blog the Penny Tales such that more people could enjoy the Adventures with Penny Angels.

Day #329 - High Five

As I approached my office this morning I said a SingSong, “Penny Angels, Penny Angels, what do you say? Will there be a coin in the breezeway today?” Within a minute there was a penny under one of the vending machines. (Coin #1)

A little later in the day I passed through a study room. There was a penny peeking out from under the leg of an upholstered chair. (Coin #2)

An engineering colleague (who thinks Penny Finding is all a little preposterous) needed my advice on getting some equipment. He threw a penny on my desk as payment for my services. (It was a nice, shiny new Lincoln Professional Life penny).

Doc went out to lunch with Lita, the Mechanical Engineering department secretary. They both were looking for coins when approaching the restaurant. As they were called to be seated, Lita stepped aside to reveal a penny on the floor. (Coin #3) Before lunch, they had stopped and delivered a copy of my floorplan to Designer #2 for an estimate design fees for the new house. (Baby step of progress).

Around 2:00 this afternoon the Fever hit. I tried to ignore it. I finally gave in. At 2:45 I set off for a 15 minute hike to Penny Find. I found one penny at the Student Union at the Sushi counter. (Coin #4).

I was just entering Starbucks when a colleague stopped me and introduced me to two of the electrical engineering industry board members. One of them, Kirstie, asked me about the penny pendant I was wearing … How could I resist Sharing the story? There were 6-7 persons in the Starbucks line so I had lots of time to tell her all about Penny Finding. I think she was amazed.

We got to the register and Kirstie was placing her order. I said, “Would you liked to claim the penny at your feet as YOUR lucky penny for the day?” We all had a good laugh. The Penny Angels once again delivered a penny just perfectly to corroborate my insane story. J (Coin #5) (It was another new Lincoln Professional Life penny - how appropriate for that recipient).

Today’s Total: 5 coins P (5) = $0.05

There was the dime under the vending machine that Tina missed, a penny under the machine next to that, a quarter in my private "coin mine" vending machine, and this morning at Starbucks (just before Tina got there) the dirtiest nickel ever (looks like a fat penny with Jefferson on it). Good for a weekly "hit for cycle".
