When we arrived at the Penny Palace the Porta Potty was being serviced. The dumpster had been emptied and Handyman George had been there to disburse the gravel bags. Last week it was noted that if we did not do something with the gravel bags soon, they would be left on site at the end of the project. Thus, today George gutted the bags and spread the gravel as base material where the driveway will be poured.
On the way to the Penny Palace Doc stopped for coffee. I found a penny as soon as I hopped out of the van. Doc spotted one before we entered the store. Then I collected two dimes, a nickel and a penny. (Coins #1-6).
The focus today was on the tile stream. Over the past few weeks as we were placing the tile pieces we could not wipe them off because touching them would cause movement. Thus, today we wiped and chiseled each piece to prepare them for grouting. Doc and I were on the floor, working nose to nose for a few hours. As a result, both of us had bleeding knuckles from the sharp tiles.
At noon our friend Sharon visited for a few minutes. The last time she saw the house it merely had floor joists - not even floor sheathing. Needless to say, there has been a little work done since then.
Doc and I planned to wrap up and leave around 2 p.m. That is when Project Manager Daryl arrived. Doc immediately ceased all work and the two of them sat around drinking coffee! That was not much help in getting the work done.
Around 3:30 p.m. we finally left the Penny Palace and headed for lunch. Then we went to the Fixture Shop and ordered the water filtration units. More progress.
Total: 6 Coins P (3), N (1), D (2), Q (0) = $0.28
